I am an Edinburgh-based freelance writer and speaker with a focus on history, politics and science.

 

I have contributed articles to a range of international publications and websites including Free Inquiry, The Humanist, Skeptical Inquirer, Open Democracy, Nadja, Latterly, The Skeptic, Are We Europe and Cafe Babel, among others. Whether I'm investigating historical myths, unexplained phenomena or environmental issues I aim to be a passionate advocate for science, scepticism and critical thinking.

 

My first book, Past Mistakes: How We Misinterpret History and Why it Matters, was published by Icon Books in November 2020.
